It’s All About β€˜Love’ Today at Lakewood Public Library

Something awesome is always happening at the library.

There’s love in the air at the β€” you can feel it.

But today, for a couple of scheduled events, you’ll also be able to see and hear it, too.

First, it’s Sunday with the Friends’ live music with Dos Gatos: Latin Love; and later in the evening there’s a Meet the Author event featuring River Smith: β€œA Conspiracy to Love.”

At 2 p.m., classical guitarist Robert Gruca and soprano Liz Huff will β€œembark on a romantic tour of Latin soundscapes,” drawing inspiration from the language, music and styles of Spain and Brazil, according to a news release. The duo’s influences of American folk and jazz give it texture and bring it home.

The event, in the main auditorium, is free and open to the public.

Then, at 7 p.m., also in the main auditorium, author River Smith will present β€œA Conspiracy to Love,” lecturing about social justice, love, gender roles, assertiveness, communication, empowerment, and organizational development.

A social justice educator, activist and psychologist specializing in stress and healing, River Smith is known for book is about encouraging generosity towards oneself and all those who cross our paths. Learn to grow through joy and pain and find the necessary ingredients for love and happiness.

Books will be available for sale and signing at the event.
