Lakewood City Council Takes Care of Business
Madigan chosen as new council president; Powers picked for vice president; new councilman Anderson sworn in.
Lakewood City Council took care of a few housekeeping items at its regular council meeting Monday night.
For starters, council approved Mary Louise Madigan as its president to fill the position, vacated when . The Ward 4 councilwoman had previously served as the vice president.
At-large councilman Brian Powers was selected to take Madigan's old post as the vice president of council.

One of the first orders of business during the meeting was to swear-in David Anderson, who was to fill Butler's Ward 1 seat.
“I want to make it clear that there's no shortage of talent in Ward 1, or Lakewood for that matter," Madigan said. "We've been thrilled with the applicants for the recent council vacancies and the board and commissions.”
