- The City of Lakewood has expanded its ParkMobile partnership in an effort to modernize parking. The city is enhancing its parking experience with over 900 on-street and 160 off-street parking spaces now available on the ParkMobile app. Shawn Leininger, Director of Planning & Development from the City of Lakewood, said, "With over 1,000 parking spaces now offering ParkMobile's contactless system, our residents and guests have another easy way to pay for parking by using their phone." - Police are warning that the brand of car you drive may be making you a target for thieves. Thanks to guides posted on social media for thieves, Kia models made as early as 2011 and Hyundai models from 2015 or later are being targeted. According to Lakewood Police, they’ve been hit by car thieves; on Thursday morning, after sunrise on Newman and Cove Streets, there were two attempted thefts of Kia Fortes — a 2016 and a 2017 model.
