Lakewood Firefighters Show Support for Family of Brunswick Crash Victim
Lakewood Fire Department sets up a fund to help the family of a long-time Lakewood firefighter.

The Lakewood Fire Department takes care of its own.
That’s why when firefighters found out that one of last weekend’s crash victims in Brunswick was the son of a retired Lakewood firefighter, they rallied to support the family.
Kevin Fox — the 18-year-old son of long-time Lakewood firefighter Jim Fox — was killed along with three other teenagers following a car crash last weekend.

The fire department’s union has set up a fund to help the family.
“We’re pulling together to do what we can to help,” said Seth Andregg, a paramedic/firefighter at the . “We’re a family here. All these guys know my kids. We all know his kids. We all know each other’s families very well, so it certainly hits home. It’s heartbreaking.”

Calling hours for Kevin Fox will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 8 at Waite and Sons Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road in Brunswick on June 8 with the funeral at 11 a.m. June 9 at Cornerstone Chapel Medina 3939 Granger Road.
"We are grateful for the overwhelming support that the northeast Ohio community has given our family during this difficult time," according to a statement released by the Fox family.
Jim Fox retired two years ago after more than 20 years with the Lakewood Fire Department.
Those interested in donating to the fire department fund can make checks payable to Local 382 — with Jim Fox in the subject line — and drop them off at the on Madison Avenue.
The union will gather the funds and give them to the Fox family.
Donations can also be made to the Kevin Fox Memorial Fund at the First Merit Bank in Brunswick.
