Lakewood Historical Society Director Stepping Down
Mazie Adams says she is resigning to spend more time with her family.

After 14 years at the helm of the , director Mazie Adams is calling it quits down.
She announced her decision Wednesday, sending out notices to members of the board and officials in the community.
Her last day is Sept. 16, which she says will allow the board some time to find and train her replacement.

“I've been lucky to work in a job that I love for the past 14 years and will miss all the people I've met who also love Lakewood's history,” she said in an email.
Adams said that her husband recently opened a restaurant in Cleveland Heights — which has “dramatically changed our home-life.”

“(I am) resigning to spend more time with my family,” she added. “I'm comforted in knowing that I'll leave the historical society in very capable hands — our curator Amanda Francazio, our educator Lisa Alleman, our board of trustees and the many volunteers who help to make the organization great.
“The society is positioned for a strong future."
