Lakewood Historical Society Selects a New Leader

Jonathan Wotring was named the organization's new executive director. He will replace Mazie Adams, who announced in July that she was stepping down after 14 years at the helm.

After a three-month search, the has a new leader. 

Jonathan Wotring was named the organization’s new executive director. He will replace Mazie Adams, who after 14 years at the helm.

Wotring, who is moving from Chicago to take the position, will begin Dec. 1.

“We all recognize that this is just the first step in launching a new chapter in the history of the Historical Society and there is much more work to be done,” said Jeanne Rickert in a letter to the trustees. “We are excited to get started, and working on patience to see us through till Jonathan's start date.”

A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Wotring is an independent consultant, responsible for developing and leading tours on historic architecture and lecturing on historic preservation and architecture.

He was also the Director of Preservation Development for Historic Second Church's Angel Fund from 2003 to 2009.
