Lakewood Summer Festivities: What's Canceled, What's Not

LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood officials announced updates for several regular summer events.

Due to COVID-19, many events will either be canceled or will look different this year. Larger events where social distancing is impossible were specifically excluded as possibilities.

"Events that are usually scheduled to take place in late summer, including the Lakewood Arts Festival and the Lakewood Community Festival, are still currently being evaluated. All decisions regarding these events will be based upon the latest health and safety regulations. Further announcements are forthcoming," city officials said in a statement.

Meet the Trucks will not be held during the first week of June. However, officials are considering rescheduling the event for the fall.

Independence Day will not feature parades or concerts, but the city is planning a fireworks display.

Friday Night Flicks will proceed this summer with social distancing circles. Officials promised to release more information on dates and movies soon.
