Lakewood's Museum of Divine Statues Rescues Art From Shuttered Churches

The Museum of Divine Statues in Lakewood rescues and restores statues, many from Catholic churches closed after the '09 reconfiguration.

The Museum of Divine Statues in Lakewood restores and sometimes rebuilds statues, many of them recovered from Catholic churches closed as a result of Bishop Richard Lennon's 2009 decision to close 50 churches. St. James Catholic Church in Lakewood was one of those churches, but fortunately, the Vatican overturned the Bishop's decision and St. James reopened in 2012.

Museum operator, Lou McClung explained the restoration process to Cleveland.com
