Lakewood Hospital Hosts Diabetes Alert Day

was the host of a health fair, lecture and diabetes alert screening event on Friday afternoon.

Vistors to the hospital got the (free) opportunity to find out if they were one of the 7 million Americans with undiagnosed diabetes.

But the event was anything but a lottery for the unlucky.

Hosted by the hospital's Diabetes and Endocrine Center were on hand to review results and answer questions.

A lecture was also presented by two of the leading heart experts in the U.S. and authors of Heart 411, doctors Steven Nissen and Marc Gillinov.
