Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:

1. Yesterday, Sep. 16, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that 13 local law enforcement agencies will receive a total of $8.2 million to help prevent and investigate violent crimes. The Lakewood Police Department will receive $217,752.26 for new technology and increased patrols. (Ohio Governor)
2. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention map, as of Sep. 15, Cuyahoga County and most of Greater Cleveland are yellow, which means there is medium COVID-19 transmission. But Lorain County, which borders Cuyahoga County, has been red for the past two weeks, which means there is high COVID-19 transmission. (Subscription: Cleveland.com)
3. Maurice Kimball IV, a 20-year-old neurodivergent actor from British Columbia, will star in a Beck Center of the Arts play, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night-Time," which will run from Sep. 23 through Oct. 16 in the Senney Theater in Lakewood. Kimball will play Christopher, an extremely intelligent 15-year-old on the autism spectrum. Kimball said, "Christopher is coming of age and starting to solve a lot of mysteries about a murder, himself, life and how it all works." (Cleveland.com)
