UPDATE: Suspect Wanted in Madison Avenue Stabbing in Custody

A man was stabbed outside a bar on Saturday night in the Bird Town area of Lakewood, police ask for help finding suspect.

Shawn E. Sims has turned himself in at the Cuyahoga County jail this morning according to Lakewood police. Sims was wanted on a warrant for felonious assault in the stabbing of Dick Spence outside of a Lakewood bar on the east end of Madison Avenue.

Sims was transported to the Lakewood city jail and is being held on a bond of $100,000.00 cash or surety.

The matter is still being investigated.

43-year-old Dick Spence was stabbed in the neck outside the Flying Rib Tavern on Madison Avenue on Saturday night, Spence was taken to MetroHealth.

The suspect has been identified as 55-year-old Shawn E. Sims, from Lakewood, Sims should be considered armed and dangerous. Lakewood police are asking that anyone who knows of Sims' whereabouts, should call 216-521-6773.
