Neighbor Thwarts Burglary in Progress

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary

Police arrested a man after he broke into a home in the 1600 block of Hopkins Avenue at around 11 p.m. May 12. A neighbor called police after they heard a woman a few doors down screaming for help. The men fled south, then headed east on Madison Avenue, where officers caught up with him at the . He was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary.

responded to a report of an injured deer in the backyard of a home in the 13800 block of Lake Avenue at around 1 p.m. May 13. The deer escaped the capture of officers and the animal warden. 

Breaking and entering

A man and a juvenile girl were charged with breaking and entering after they broke into a vacant home in the 1400 block of Newman Avenue at around 7 p.m. May 14.

Raccoon killed after it attacks dog

Residents in the 2200 block of Olive Avenue killed a raccoon with a baseball bat after the animal attacked their dog at around 2 a.m. May 15. The animal warden picked up the raccoon.
