Parents Taken Out of Elementary School in Handcuffs
Man, woman taken into custody for a warrant out of Maryland on charges of growing marijuana.

The parents of a student were hauled out of the West Clifton Avenue school in handcuffs last Friday after police learned they had warrants out of Maryland for growing marijuana.
Just as the school day ended, officers learned that the man and woman were at the school attending a party, said Lakewood Police Chief Timothy Malley.
“(The) Montgomery County Police Department called the school as they had information the parents had enrolled their child,” he said. “The mother and father were arrested on the warrants and transported to Cuyahoga County Jail for extradition.”

“While waiting in the car lane off of Webb Road to pick up my child, I saw the police walk someone out of the school in handcuffs and taken away,” she said, adding that she hadn’t received any notice from the school about the incident.
Officials in the district were aware of the incident, but noted that the other students weren’t in any danger.
"The district cooperated fully with the Lakewood Police Department on the arrest of the two individuals to ensure that the safety of our students was never at risk," said district spokeswoman Christine Gordillo.
