Police Blotter: Fleeing and Eluding; Assault; and Deer Shot and Killed

Deer shot after it was struck by a car
Officers shot and killed a deer after it was hit by a car and seriously injured in the 16000 block of Lake Avenue at around 2 a.m.
Assault

A woman who called police to report an assault was arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct in the 13000 block of Madison Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 7.
Water balloon toss gone badÂ

Police received a call that two boys were throwing water balloons at passing cars in the 12500 block of Lake Avenue at around 10:40 a.m. Officers were unable to locate the boys.
Fleeing and eluding
A man was arrested and charged with felony fleeing and eluding after he fled from police near the intersection of Madison Avenue and W. 117th Street at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 7. Officers caught up with the man in Cleveland, where he was arrested 30 minutes later.
Burglary
A resident in the 15400 block of Edgewater Drive told police that the home had been burglarized Aug. 8. Jewelry was reported stolen from an upstairs bedroom.
Hold the pickles
A resident in the 1400 block of Newman Avenue told police Aug. 9 that someone put ketchup, mayonnaise and bologna on his vehicle sometime during the night.Â
Man struck by a car
A man walking near the intersection of Madison and Wascana avenues was struck by a car at around 8 p.m. Aug. 9. The man, who was disoriented when police and EMS crews arrived, did not get a make or model on the car. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Â
