Police Blotter: Identity Theft; Stolen Car Recovered; and a Rat Bite

Burglary
A resident in the Lakewood Club Apartments told police that the apartment had been broken into July 1, and numerous things were missing.
Disorderly persisting

Two girls ran into the shop on Detroit Avenue and told employees that a man was following them at around 4:40 p.m. When police showed up, the man was in the parking lot. He was charged with disorderly persisting.
Missing cat

A cat was reported missing in the 14600 block of Leonard Avenue on July 1. The black/gray tabby has a white front with white paws. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the animal control officer at 216-521-6773.
Identity theft
A woman told police July 1 that someone used her social security number to file a false tax return.Â
Identity theft… Or not
A man in the 15500 block of Madison Avenue called police at around 8 p.m. July 2 to say that his identity had been stolen by the Bush Administration following 9/11 attacks. When police arrived the man wasn’t home.
Rat bite
A child in the 14900 block of Arden Avenue was bitten by a rat at around 1:30 p.m. July 2.
Stolen car recovered
While out for a walk in the 10705 block of Lake Avenue in Cleveland on July 3, a man spotted his girlfriend’s car that had been stolen last month from their home on Clifton Blvd. The vehicle was towed from the parking space, and the woman got her car back.
