Police Blotter: Man Steals Rent Money, Theft at CityWide Sale and a Kiddie Pool Mix-Up

Man collects rent, leaves town
A man in the 1300 block of Clarence Avenue told police June 23 that he hired a man to manage his properties. When the new manager went to collect rent, he took the money and left town. The amount of money stolen was not listed in the police report.Â

A man was charged with assault at 2 a.m. June 23 at a home in the 1400 block Spring Garden Avenue.

A man in the 1500 block of Robinwood Avenue told police June 23 that he bought an inflatable pool. He filled it up with water and went to the store.
When he returned, the pool was stolen. It turns out that a neighbor’s pool had also been stolen.
The neighbor took his pool thinking it was their missing pool. The man showed the neighbor the receipt and settled the issue without police involvement.
Burglary
A woman in the 1300 block of Mathews Avenues told police that when she came home for lunch at around 1 p.m. June 24, she noticed someone had been in her house. Then, she noticed her camera, jewelry and computer were stolen.
Dangerous drugs
A man was charged with drug abuse following a traffic stop at W. 116th Street and Madison Avenue in Cleveland at around 4:20 p.m. June 24.
Drunken driving
Police received a report of a man driving recklessly on Bunts Road at around 1 p.m. June 25. It turns out the man was wanted on a hit-skip charge out of the Cleveland Police Department. Lakewood police also charged him with operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension, failure to comply and not wearing a seatbelt.
Salesman on a 10-speed
Police received a report of a man riding his 10-speed bicycle near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Warren Road, and trying to sell a power drill to stopped motorists. Police were unable to locate the would-be salesman.
TheftÂ
A resident in the 13000 block of Merl Avenue, who was participating in the on June 25, told police that a man stole her earnings and took off on foot.Â
