A man was charged with discharging a firearm after he fired off his gun in the 11700 block of Nelson Court at around 2:30 a.m. Jan. 6.

A freight train made an emergency stop after a man walking on the railroad tracks refused to move near the 1300 block of Cook Avenue at around 3 p.m. Jan. 6. The man moved at the last moment, according to the report. The conductor told police that the man ran between houses on Cook Avenue or entered one of the homes on the north side of the tracks.  Police were unable to catch him.

You'll shoot yer eye out, Part II 

A man told police that he saw three boys walking near l, and one of them had a gun at around 3 p.m. Jan. 7. When officers arrived, they learned it was a plastic pellet gun. The boys were “advised” and sent on their way.

Smoking crack cocaine leads to arrest

Police received a top that people were smoking crack cocaine in the Hidden Village Apartments at 11849 Clifton Boulevard at around 10 p.m. Jan. 7. A woman was charged with occupying a drug residence, felony drug possession, possession of a hypodermic needle and drug paraphernalia.
