Police Blotter: Robbery; Burglary; Assault on a Police Officer

Assault on police officer leads to charges
A man was charged with assault of a police officer, disorderly conduct, criminal damaging and criminal trespassing, following a traffic stop near the on Detroit Avenue at 2 a.m. Aug. 12. Following the traffic the stop, the man bolted on foot, but officers caught up with him a short time later.
Robbery

Two men were charged with robbery after they robbed a woman near the a shop on Madison Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. Aug. 12. The men stole her purse, money, shoes, sweater and phone — but the woman knew the robbers. Police arrested them a little while later and charged them with robbery.
Foot chase leads to arrest

Following a traffic stop near the intersection of Detroit and Ridgewood avenues at around 7 p.m. Aug. 12, a man led police on a foot chase. Officers caught up with him an hour later in the 1300 block of Fry Avenue and charged him with obstructing official business.
Drug bust on a bike
A man was stopped on his bicycle near the intersection of Detroit and Hird avenues for not having a light on his bike at around 3:30 a.m. Aug. 13. However, he did have drugs. The man was charged with drug trafficking, possession of criminal tools and drug abuse.
BurglaryÂ
A woman in the 12000 block of Lake Avenue told police Aug. 13 that someone broke into her home sometime during the night and stole her purse, which contained money and credit cards.
Attack on a cousin
A woman was arrested and charged with assault after attacking her cousin at the at around 4:40 p.m. Aug. 14.
Bad habits, nice breath
A man was arrested and charged with theft after he stole three cartons of cigarettes and a pack of gum from the on Clifton Boulevard at 4:40 p.m. Aug. 14.
