Police Blotter: Smashing Pumpkins and the Case of a Flower Pot Bandit
The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Robbery
A man in the 1200 block of Cook Avenue was struck in his head from behind by at least three men, who robbed him at around 9:40 p.m. Oct. 31.
Theft

A laptop computer was reported stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Bonnieview Avenue on Nov. 1.
Flower pot bandit

Flower pots were stolen from  at around 11 a.m. Nov. 2. Just moments later, flower pots were reported stolen at . However, the bandits were caught on camera at the gas station. Police are investigating.Â
Breaking and entering
A building in the 13400 block of Madison Avenue was broken into at around 3 p.m. Nov. 2.
Grand theft auto
A car was reported stolen from the parking lot of on Edgewater Drive at around 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2.Â
Table on fire
The Lakewood and responded to a call of a picnic table on fire at at around 6 p.m. Nov. 2. The fire was put out by a police officer.Â
Smashing pumpkins
It’s that time of the year. Pumpkins were smashed and strewn up and down Gladys Avenue Nov. 2. The remnants were placed in the tree lawn for pickup. There were other reports of smashed pumpkins around the city during the week.
What emergency?
A man was taken to the emergency room at twice between Nov. 2 and Nov. 3. Turns out, the man was on a list of people seeking pain medication to support a drug habit. He walked out of the hospital both times. The man had a warrant out of Brook Park, but that police department didn’t want to take him into custody.
