Police Blotter: Stolen Flags, Fighting and a Practical Joke Turned Bad

That’s not patriotic
Two residents in the 2100 block of Northland Avenue told police that their flags had been stolen from their porches around 5 p.m. June 9.

Someone left cheese and lunchmeat on a car in the 1200 block of Cook Avenue at around 11 a.m. June 11. No bread was found at the scene, but the victim told police that he was also left a threatening note.
Disorderly conduct

A woman was charged with disorderly conduct after a fight broke out at an apartment in the Silver Coast Apartments at around 1 a.m. June 9.
Fight
Police responded to the intersection of Lake and Cove avenues at around 1:30 p.m. June 9 for a call of a fight between a man and a woman. The caller told police that the man pushed the woman to the ground then threw his bicycle at her. He was charged with disorderly conduct and drug abuse. His bicycle and his driver’s license were impounded.
Practical joke turned bad
Police received a call around 1:30 p.m. June 9 that three juveniles were standing at Hilliard Road and Arthur Avenue “making it look like they are holding something like a string” across the road so that cars would slam on their brakes. The juveniles were not found.
Basketball hours posted
A man was told leave Kauffman Park at 9:30 a.m. June 10 when he showed up to play basketball. Police told him that courts weren’t open yet.
Curfew
Police officers responded to a call of a fight in the 2100 Quail Avenue at 12:30 June 11. Four juveniles were charged with curfew violations and a woman was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
