Police Investigating Recent Car Break-Ins

A few break-ins reported on the city's East End on April 2.

Police are looking into a few reports of car break-ins earlier this week on the east end of town.

Two of them were on Waterbury Road and another on Chesterland Avenue in the early morning of April 2.

Lakewood Police Chief Timothy Malley said officers are investigating.

“Obviously all valuable property should be out of sight and secured,” he said.

One resident of Waterbury Road told Lakewood Patch that she was one of the victims.

“My car was parked in our drive,” she said, adding that the driver window was busted out by a brick and the glove-box was rummaged through.

“Luckily I never keep anything of value of my car, and there was nothing in the car at all except for a seat cushion, so I guess they were just hoping there were valuables stowed somewhere in the car.”
