A 38-year-old Lakewood man was arrested and charged with kidnapping and domestic violence on Monday evening after a raid at the man’s home in the 17200 block of Riverside Drive.
After receiving a tip that he may have been armed, the Lakewood Police Department and members of the SWAT team closed a portion of Riverside Drive and McKinley Avenue during the arrest.
The streets were closed from 5:48 to 7:43 p.m., according to Lakewood police dispatchers. The department wouldn't comment on whether the man was armed — or what he was armed with.

“In general, if we’re going to do a search warrant, and we learn there may be weapons involved, we are going to close the street and call the SWAT team,” said Sgt. Ed Gannon.
The man was arrested without incident, and is being held at the Lakewood City Jail, according to a press release.
