Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:

  1. A severe storm on Monday night left thousands without power in Northeast Ohio. Issues from the storm ranged from fallen trees to severe flooding. As of yesterday morning, more than 2,000 FirstEnergy customers in NE Ohio were without electricity with Cuyahoga County reporting 875 outages. Stay safe out there on the roads as things get cleared up! (WKYC.com)
  2. There have been two arrests in the death of the Lakewood man, Victor Huff, who was found deceased two days after he went missing. Huff didn't report to work on Aug. 2 and apparently withdrew $500 from two different ATMs; family members reported an unknown woman was driving his truck. Huff's body was found on Aug. 4 near Train and Richner avenues wrapped in a tarp. He had been shot multiple times. The names of the arrested suspects have not been released as of Tuesday evening. 3. Major construction may be headed to I-90 which will affect the Rocky River, Lakewood, and Cleveland areas. Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) officials have proposed a $188 million construction project to fix the I-90 corridor between the Hilliard Road exit and the I-71/I-490 interchange. The project is expected to begin in 2024 and complete in 2026. The public is being asked for their input at this time. (Cleveland 19 News)
