Slideshow: Bodybuilders Descend on Lakewood

More than 1,000 people were in attendance for a National Physique Committee bodybuilding competition Saturday night at the  at .

More than 200 men and women bodybuilders — from all over the country — participated in the NPC Natural Ohio competition.

The event was a NPC Team Universe Qualifier and also a NPC National Qualifier for Figure and Bikini.

There were more than 25 classes in the competition, including men’s and women’s bodybuilding, and bikini classes.

The event was billed a drug-free compition — one where contestants were tested for illegal performance-enhancing drugs including anabolic steroids, diuretics and clenbuterol.
