Snapshot: ‘Material Matters’ Exhibit Running Through March 19

Beck Center for the Arts hosts fiber art display by a half-dozen Northern Ohio artists.

The Beck Center for the Arts kicked off a new exhibit over the weekend.

Material Matters — featuring the work of six female fiber artists — is set to run in the Jean Bulicek Galleria through March 19.

According to a news release, Material Matters features the work of Liz Burgess, Si-Yun Chang, Linda Grashoff, Sue Copeland Jones, Ruta Marino, and Kathleen Van Meter — local women have been meeting monthly for several years to provide each other with criticism and support.

“While clearly divergent in their choice of materials, process and expression, they all share a common passion and commitment to the creative process,” according to the news release.

Each artist uses all sorts of materials — including photographs, paper, quilted cloth, silk, needlework and embroidery.
