State Rep. Antonio Shows Support for HIV/AIDS Unity Day

Elected officials urging Gov. Kasich to support Ohio HIV Drug Assistance Program.

State Rep. , of Lakewood, was one of several elected officials statewide who showed up Tuesday on the steps of the Ohio Statehouse in support of HIV/AIDS Unity Day.

More to the point, Antonio and a half-dozen others — from both sides of the political aisle — offered public support for the Ohio HIV Drug Assistance Program and urged Ohio legislators to fund the program at a sufficient level to serve all Ohioans in need of these services.

Antonio noted the budget presented by Gov. John Kasich does not reflect the funding needs for those living with HIV in Ohio.

“It is important that we keep the promise for access to care and services for all living with HIV/AIDS in the State of Ohio,” she said in a prepared statement. “I am committed to this goal.”
