Sweet Spot Invited to Participate in the Fabulous Food Show

For ice cream vendors, the event was by invitation only.

One “sweet” Lakewood establishment was invited to attend the Fabulous Spring Food Show next weekend at the IX Center.

That’s right, for ice cream vendors, the event was by invitation only

— the only gelato joint represented at the show — will share the stage with eight other powerhouse ice cream vendors including Pierre’s, Miller’s Creamery and Menchie’s.

Celeste Blau, the co-owner of the Sweet Spot, said she’s looking forward to participating in the event.

"Our fun flavors combinations should be a great complement to the grilling and summer barbeque theme of the show, and the coming months in our store,” she said.

Blau said the flavors will likely include:

  • Lemon Ginger
  • Agave Vanilla (low glycemic)
  • Fig Hazelnut
  • Pistachio
  • Rhubarb
  • Pink Grapefruit Sorbet (dairy-free)
  • Beeramisu
  • Chocolate Mint Cayenne

The Sweet Spot — recently named in the top 5 of Best Ice Cream on the Fox 8 Hot List, as well as a finalist at Best of the West — is gearing up for a busy summer.

The gelato shop will also set up shop at another event in May: The International Beer Fest, where the Sweet Spot will offer a session about beer and gelato pairings.

The Spring Fabulous Food Show — a grilling and outdoor entertaining event featuring celebrity chefs Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse, Steven Raichlen — is set to take place April 28 and 29 at the IX Center in Cleveland.
