They've also been crafting the perfect gelato recipe.
"Italians use local ingredients and so will we," said Celeste Blau, who worked in marketing before getting into the restaurant world. "But our gelato will be American-style — that means that it will have less fat."
Sweet Spot will feature 32 flavors to begin — but don't be surprised if more choices are added.
"We'll have different, crazy flavors," she said, pointing out the beet-goat-cheese-and-balsamic-vinaigrette gelato. "But we'll also have all the favorites — mine's cookies-and-cream. We'll have that, too."
Sweet Spot hopes to live up to its name, also serving cookies, cakes and brownies from local bakeries.Â
"We want to be known as a dessert restaurant," Celeste Blau said.Â
Sweet Spot is open seven days a week, until 10 p.m. most nights.
