Viewfinder: Zombies Walk the Streets of Lakewood
Annual Zombie Walk draws more than 500 to raise money for charity.
On Saturday, nearly 500 zombies took to the streets of Lakewood — no, they weren't looking for brains. They were hoping to raise money and food for Harvest for Hunger program through the Cleveland Food Bank.
Starting at the , volunteers strutted their stuff down Detroit Avenue. To participate in the event, the would-be zombies donated $5 donation and two canned goods.Â

There are two Zombie Walks in Lakewood each year — once in April and again in September.Â
"Every April and September, for one Saturday afternoon, the streets of Lakewood will witness a massive zombie outbtreak, all in the name of a good cause," Ostrica said. "This is definitely one of the more unique charity events this city has to offer, and we have zombies of all ages, from babies in strollers to grandparents. Plus it's a very festive environment. Our zombies love to have a good time."
