5 Things You Need to Know This Week

Art show's closing, Arbor Day and Mother's Day are all this week

1. The Mayfield City Schools District's 10th annual student art exhibit, A Decade of Art, remains on view through Friday in the atrium at Hillcrest Hospital, 6780 Mayfield Road.

2. Highland Heights City Council's Committee of the Whole will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Items on the agenda include the municipal green space project and an economic development self-assessment tool.

3. Mayfield Village City Council will have a caucus meeting at 8 p.m. today. There will also be a Safety and Service Committee meeting at 7:30 p.m.

4. Mayfield Village's 28th annual Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Mayfield Village Service Department, 610 SOM Center Road. Cost is $5 for seniors, $7 for adults (ages 11 to 61) and $4 for children.

5.  Arbor Day will be celebrated with a ceremony starting at 8:15 a.m. Friday at Wiley Park in Mayfield Village. There will be a tree planting, artwork by a Brownie Troop and a performance by the St. Paschal Baylon Children's Choir.
