5 Things You Need to Know This Week

1. Mayor Greg Costabile's Golf Outing will take place on Friday at Fowler's Mill Golf Course. Dinner is included. Sign up individually or as a team for the four-person scramble. 2. City Council will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 5827 Highland Road. Items on the agenda include Police Chief James Cook addressing security and safety issues and an update on the Jefferson Drive sewer project.

3. Council will meet at 8 p.m. tonight at the Civic Center, 6622 Wilson Mills Road. The agenda includes rezoning of land for Deacon's Chrysler Jeep and a smoke alarm purchase program for residents.

4. The Mayfield Village Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Civic Center, 6622 Wilson Mills Road, to discuss the site plan for the expansion of Deacon's Chrysler Jeep.

5. Mayfield Village Parks and Recreation will offer a Bike Ride and Scavenger Hunt through the Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation from 9-11 a.m. Sunday. Registration ended July 13 – call the recreation department at 440-461-5163 to see if there are any openings. There is an additional charge for registration after deadline.
