After Prom Committee Needs Storage Space

At least 1,000 square feet is needed

The After Prom Committee needs space to store props for the annual event.

Tammy Clines, committee president, said that current space at the Cuyahoga East Vocational Education Consortium will no longer be available starting in September. She said at least 1,000 square feet of space is needed to store the props.

"The thing is that the party itself costs $25,000. We really don't have the money to pay for space," she said. "We've been blessed the last 19 years that we've always had space at a school."

She said a 20-foot replica of Machu Picchu was built and had to be destroyed because there was nowhere to store it.

This will be the last year in which Clines will head the committee. She said she would like to find a space to hand over to the people taking over next school year.

"I thought it was imperative that we have something in place," she said.

Clines said the 2011 After Prom was attended by 511 students.

"It was the biggest After Prom we've ever had," she said.
