Aintree Area to Get Most of Mayfield Village Road Work

$1 million has been budgeted for street repairs

The Aintree area of Mayfield Village will see the bulk of the work done in the street program for 2011.

Service Director Douglas Metzung said $1 million has been budgeted for road repairs, as planned when the village went sought an income tax increase last year.

Aintree Park Drive, Hunt Circle, Chase Drive, Derby Drive, Northbrook Drive and Beechers Brook Road are all scheduled to be repaired. Metzung said the plan is to repair the concrete and then overlay the streets with asphalt. But that is subject to change based on road conditions and cost.

"The price of asphalt is going through the roof," Metzung said.

Village officials may decide to skip the asphalt for now and make additional concrete repairs on other streets.

"We'll have to take a good look at what the road conditions are when we're about to get started," Metzung said.
