Andrew McCartney Named to Mayfield City Schools Hall of Fame
Class of 1988 graduate will be inducted today

Andrew McCartney, president and owner of one of the fastest-growing companies in northeast Ohio, has been successful ever since his days at .
McCartney, one of four new inductees to the Hall of Fame, ranked in the top four of the class of 1988 and earned varsity letters in tennis, cross country, basketball and track.
He was also president of the National Honor Society and a member of the Junior Council on World Affairs and the marching band.
After high school, he attended the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated ninth in a class of 1,100 students. He then earned a master's degree in electrical engineering from Tufts University and constructed a new laser device currently used in commercial applications as part of his master's project.
McCartney joined Bowden Manufacturing in 1998 and eventually became president and owner. The Willoughby company nearly tripled in employees and by 2009 more than tripled annual sales. Bowden has been recognized as one of the area's fastest-growing companies and in June 2011 was named one of the top workplaces by the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
He is also owner of Lake County Speedway in Painesville Township.
McCartney said his finest achievement is his relationship with God as it is reflected in his marriage to his wife, Amy.
