Area Students to Chosen as Correspondents for Conference

Several area students were chosen to represent Ohio at the George Mason University 2012 Washington Journalism and Media Conference.

The seven students who will travel to Washington, D.C. for the conference are Serena Cai and Morgan Windina of Mayfield Heights, Mallory Harden of Cleveland, Lea Galgoczy of Highland Heights and Kayla Ujczo, Matthew Thomas and Katie Valenti of Mayfield Village.

The conference will take place July 8-13 and is designed to develop and encourage future leaders in the changing field of media. National Youth Correspondents learn through decision-making simulations that challenge them to solve problems and explore creative, practical and ethical questions inherent in journalism and media.

Presenters include prominent journalists and chief executive officers of major media outlets.
