BJ's Wholesale Club Makes $34,950 Donation to Hillcrest Hospital

Money will go toward breast cancer research and treatment

Alvin Bates, general manager of the BJ’s Wholesale Club in Warrensville Heights, recently presented a $34,950 check from the BJ’s Charitable Foundation for breast cancer research and treatment to Hillcrest Hospital President Jeffrey Leimgruber, Regional Vice President of Oncology Services at Hillcrest Nikki Carter, and Senior Director of Community Development at Hillcrest Ronald C. Vojacek.

In honor of last October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness month, funds were raised through specially marked “Pink Ribbon” merchandise sold at BJ’s in 15 states.

Every product with the BJ’s Charitable Foundation Pink Ribbon Logo generated donations that were divided among 13 National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Centers, including the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center at Hillcrest Hospital.  BJ’s has worked closely with the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center at Hillcrest Hospital since 2008, donating more than $117,000 for breast cancer efforts.
