Car Show, National Senior Games & More: 5 Things Going On This Week in the Mayfield Area
Here's a look at some events coming up in your community.

The range of events coming to the Mayfield area this week include everything from classic cars to athletic senior citizens.
Here are five things going on this week in your community:
- Vintage cars are coming to Mayfield Heights on Thursday. The city will host its annual car show from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. In addition to classic and special interest models, the event will also feature concessions, a 50/50 raffle and entertainment from Eddie and the Edsels. - The nation's best athletes, ages 50 to 100, have descended upon Northeast Ohio for the National Senior Games, and some of them will be right in your neighborhood. Stonewater Golf Club will play host to the golf portion of the Games from Tuesday to Friday. Three golf divisions for men and women will tee off at 8 a.m. each of the three days events are scheduled at Stonewater — ages 50 to 54; 55 to 59; and 60 to 64. The events are free and open to the public. Click here for more information.
- The City of Mayfield Heights is just one entity to offer summer concerts this year. Cleveland Metroparks' North Chagrin Reservation will get into the act Tuesday with a free show by the Hillcrest Concert and Bedford Community bands. It lasts from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the forest picnic area. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Click here for more event information.
- Are you a new mother searching for a way to stop the crying for at least a little bit? If so, the Mayfield Library has a program that could help. Baby & Me Tuesday is a program that includes rhymes, songs, fingerplays and books. Registration is not required.
- Can 500 people pack 100,000 lunches in two days? A motivated group from Cornerstone Community Church is willing to find out if it means playing a role in the fight against world hunger. The church has already raised $21,000 for the food that will be sent to malnourished children across the world. Read more about the church's effort by clicking this link.
