Collinwood Memories Club Dedicates Memorial at Golf Course

Group includes many residents of Hillcrest area

Collinwood Memories Club dedicated a memorial on Thursday at the Rolling Green Golf Course in Geauga County, where members have gathered on Tuesdays for golf for the past 25 years.

The club, whose 234 active members include many residents of the Hillcrest Patch area, share a common bond of growing up in the Collinwood area of Cleveland. Members raise money and volunteer at Holy Redeemer Church to help keep the Kipling Avenue church open.

The granite memorial, 37 inches high and 4 feet wide, recognizes the contributions and sacrifices of members of the Collinwood neighborhood. Club members settled and built churches – brick by brick after a full day of work – and many fought in World War II, said club member Ralph Tarsitano of Mayfield Village. The memorial lists names of the club's 234 members.

For 25 years, club members have met on the first Wednesday of the month at Casa DiBorally's for a meeting and lunch. The club's officers are Augie Criado , president;  Dominic  Corsaro, golf chairman; and David Cirino, secretary.
