A woman was found dead Saturday in her Golden Gate Blvd. apartment

Editor's note: This report was updated at 5 p.m. on Monday.

Mayfield Heights Police believe the husband of the woman whose body was found Saturday night in a Golden Gate Boulevard apartment had previously committed suicide.

The Mayfield Heights department reported to the apartment to assist Cleveland Police in notifying 48-year-old Pamela R. Mays of the apparent suicide of her husband, Darryle Burke, Mayfield Lt. Steve Brown said. Officers forced entry into the apartment when nobody answered the door. That's when they found Mays' deceased body.

Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner spokesman Hugh Shannon said Mayfield Police reported Mays' death as a likely homicide, but the examiner has not officially ruled it as such. Brown said police believe the deaths to be related to a domestic situation.

Mayfield Heights Police found her body just after 8 p.m. at 1424 Golden Gate Blvd. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death.
