Food4Fines Drive Starts at County Libraries

Mayfield, Gates Mills branches participating

The Food4Fines drive kicks off today at all Cuyahoga County Public Library branches, including Mayfield, 6080 Wilson Mills Road, and Gates Mills, 1491 Chagrin River Road.

Through Saturday, library patrons can reduce their fines by up to $4 per visit by bringing in peanut butter, cereal, canned soup, canned vegetables, beef stew or tuna fish. Each donated item will reduce a customer's account by $1. Donations are limited to four per visit.

All items collected at library branches will be delivered to the Cleveland Foodbank for distribution.

This is the third year the library system has had a Food4Fines drive. Last year, Food4Fines raised more than 11,000 pounds of donations.

Cash donations for the Cleveland Foodbank will also be accepted at library locations during the Harvest for Hunger campaign, which runs through April 23.
