Gilmour Academy Benefit Now an Intrasquad Game
Swing for a Solution raises awareness, money for Autism Speaks

After three cancellations, the softball benefit Swing for a Solution will take place at 4 p.m. today as an intrasquad game.
The varsity softball team lost in district seminfinal play earlier this week, but will split up for a game featuring Team Solution, coached by varsity assistants Kristy Booher and Mandy Hansen, and Team Swing, coached by junior varsity assistant Jules Principe. Varsity coach Jim Galloway and junior varsity coach Joe Soukenik are both certified umpires and will oversee the event.
Players will be introduced, as will the young man who serves as inspiration for the benefit, created by Booher to show support for fellow assistant Mandy Hansen’s 7-year old son Michael, who is autistic.
