Governor Kasich to Sign Bill Honoring Thibodeau
Grendell-sponsored legislation dedicates portion of U.S. Route 322

Gov. John Kasich will sign Senate Bill 187 at a formal ceremony at 5 p.m. today at the Ohio Statehouse. Sen. Tim Grendell, R-18, sponsored the bill, which names part of U.S. Route 322 in Chesterland the "Chief Warrant Officer Christopher R. Thibodeau Memorial Highway."
Thibodeau died on May 26 while piloting an Apache helicopter on a combat mission in Afghanistan. He graduated from West Geauga High School and served with the 1st Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade.
“Chief Warrant Officer Christopher R. Thibodeau paid the ultimate price while serving his country,” said Grendell. “While we will never be able to fully express our gratitude to him, creating this memorial highway in his honor is one small way we can show our respect and thanks for the courage and sacrifice of this remarkable man. It is our sincere hope that creating this memorial highway will be a source of comfort to his parents, Bob and Doreen Thibodeau, who live in Chesterland, his wife LeeSandra and everyone who loved and cherished him."
