We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week. 

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. We want to hear from you!

Grandparent's Night at the Library

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday
Why Go: Children ages 3-8 and their grandparent or older friend are invited for activities and crafting

Why Go: A program for the birds – join for fun and games exploring how these feathered creatures have enriched our lives

Magic Park Bus: Rocks and Fossils

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Nature Center, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday
Why Go: Discover the story of Ohio's geology and meet a scientist to dig deeper into rocks and fossils, for ages 6 to 12 with an adult

Just for Teens Anime Manga

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road, 3:15 p.m. Thursday
Why Go: Children in grades six to 12 can watch anime and discuss their favorite shows and books

Bald Eagle Open House

Where/When: Mentor Marsh Nature Preserve, 5185 Corduroy Road, Mentor, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday
