Grab & Go Kids Planner

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

 You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. We want to hear from you.

Jungle Terry

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road, 7 p.m. Thursday
Why Go: Jungle Terry will introduce his many animal friends, including snakes

Make Your Own Terrarium

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library Gates Mills Branch, 1491 Chagrin RIver Road, 10 a.m. Friday
Why Go: Children in grades one and up will learn about terrarium gardens while creating their own

Naturepiece Theatre: Carnivores, Oh My!

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Nature Center, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday
Why Go: Children ages 6 and younger (with an adult) can explore the world of carnivores, herbivores and others through hands-on activities

Saturday Storytime Adventure

Where/When: Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 28801 Chagrin Blvd, Woodmere, 11 a.m. Saturday
Why Go: The best new picture books and time-honored favorites will be presented on the Winnie the Pooh stage

Book Buddies – Little Buddies

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road, 6:30 p.m. Monday
Why Go: Little Buddies going into grades one to three will be teamed with Big Buddy teen volunteers for reading, games and fun
