We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

 Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. We want to hear from you!

Family Storytime Wednesday

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road, 7 p.m. today
Why Go: Stories, songs and fun for ages 2-6 with a caregiver
Price: Free – no registration required

Family Friday Night: Hotdog Roast and Music

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Nature Education Building, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday
Why Go: Experience nature's wonders during a relaxing stroll and then roast hotdogs and listen to music

Dalcroze Eurhythmics

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road, 11 a.m. Tuesday
Why Go: Faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music will present a program of movement-based opportunities for ages 3-6

Family Adventure Hike

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Nature Education Building, 1:30-3 p.m. Saturday
Why Go: Explore the pond and marsh looking for aquatic insects, tadpoles and fish – wear clothes that can get muddy and wet. For ages 8-14 with an adult.

Thursdays with Ms. Margo

Where/When: Barnes & Noble, 28801 Chagrin Blvd., Woodmere, 11 a.m. Thursday
Why Go: Story, songs and crafts for toddlers and preschoolers
Price: Free
