Grab & Go Kids Planner

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children. 

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. We want to hear from you!

Kids' Sewing Class

Where/When: Pins and Needles, 1296 SOM Center Road, 4-5 p.m. Thursday. Call 440-446-1484.

Why Go: Kids can learn about fabric, sewing and more.

Pricing: $10 per day, plus $39.99 kit fee.

Friday Family Night: Sledding

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Old River Farm Picnic Area parking lot, 6:30-8 p.m. Friday

Why Go: Sled and take in the sights and sounds. There will also be free hot chocolate.

Get Active With Games

Where/When: 34490 Melinz Parkway, Eastlake, 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Why Go: Nerf tag, ball games, inflatables and motor development games.

Pricing: $8

Toad-ally Awesome Amphibians

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Nature Center, 2-9 p.m. Saturday

Why Go: Frog-related activities and events from 2-5 p.m. with live amphibians, Tadpole Trivia at 5:45 p.m. and the movie Land Invaders at 6:45 p.m.

Owl Sunday

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Nature Center, 1-4 p.m. Sunday

Why Go: Learn about the myths and facts surrounding owls. There will be live owls, activities and a movie
