Grendell Supports State Two-Year Operating Budget
Ohio House vote expected today

State Sen. Tim Grendell, R-18, voted for the state's $112 billion two-year operating budget, which passed the Senate 22-11 on Tuesday and heads to the House.
"This budget addresses the budget shortfall created by the previous administration's use of one-time federal funds, without raising taxes. Raising taxes in this struggling economy would be irresponsible. Ohioans and Ohio business are taxed enough," Grendell said.
He added that his main priority was making sure there was adequate funding for schools and local government.
Grendell said he also successfully lobbied for inclusion in the budget of provisions to decentralize the E-check auto emissions testing program, to conduct a state government restructuring and downsizing study, to require that the JobsOhio transaction be conducted according to the state constitution, to provide adequate funding for food banks and public transportation and to provide proper auxiliary financial support for parochial schools.
