Highland Heights Community Day is Saturday

Event starts at noon at the Community Park.

Community Day will start at noon Saturday at the Community Park, 5905 Wilson Mills Road. The event features food from area restaurants, entertainment and activities for children and adults.

All day activities and events include a disc jockey, karaoke and green screen special effects by Bill James Disc Jockeys, pony rides and inflatables and games.

The live music schedule is: 12:30-1:30 p.m., Broken Wheels Square Dance Club; 2-4 p.m., Carmelina Band; 5-7 p.m., Sight and Sound; and 8-10 p.m. Dive Bomb.

Food and beverages will be available from Harry Buffalo, Hershey's Ice Cream, La Vera, Mulligan's Tavern, Naya Bistro and Zeppe's.

Activities include family and senior bingo from noon to 2 p.m., a pool party with free admission for Highland Heights residents from 1-3 p.m. and a build a craft workshop for kids presented by Home Depot from 2-3 p.m.

There will also be rocketship car rides from 2-5:30 p.m., a performance by Jungle Terry at 3:30 p.m., magician Rick Smith Jr. at 5 p.m., air-brushed tattoos from 5-7 p.m. and hot air balloon rides from 6-8 p.m., weather permitting. All proceeds from the rides will go to the Chldren's Miracle Network and The Up Side of Downs of Northeast Ohio.

The event will end with fireworks at 10 p.m.
