Hillcrest Hospital Has Red, White and Blue Day

is collecting items to place in holiday gift boxes for Cleveland-area military men and women serving in Afghanistan.

Posters and collection bins are in the Atrium, Seidman Tower and 4 Main.

Requested items are men's deodorant, body wipes, cough drops, shaving cream (travel size), eye drops, ear drops, playing cards, bug spray, toilet paper, batteries, sunscreen, zip-lock bags, disposable cameras, dryer sheets, white cotton socks, small cans of tuna and other food, peanut butter and jelly (no glass), Slim Jims/beef jerky and letters of thanks and support.

To show their support for the effort, hospital employees have been asked to wear red, white and blue today. Another Red, White and Blue day is scheduled for Nov. 9.
