Find out how tax dollars will be allocated for the new fiscal year.

In preparation of the new fiscal year, Mayfield Heights, like other municipalities in the state had to tell the county how levied tax dollars would be spent.

At its most recent meeting, city council approved the 2014 tax budget that will be adopted and forwarded to the Cuyahoga County Budget Commission.

"Every year, we have to show how we will allocate the (10 mill) tax levy that has been approved by voters or is in the city charter," finance director Bob Tribby said.

The city has about $556 million in property valuation, producing $5.561 million to allocate. More than half goes to the city's general fund.
